Former Baringo Senator Hon. Gideon Moi visited the family of the late Senator William Cheptumo at their Karen home to offer his condolences following the senator’s passing.
Moi, who was accompanied by his personal assistant Peter Chelang’a and nominated MCA Hon. Sharon Keter, contributed Ksh 100,000 towards the funeral arrangements.
Senator Cheptumo, who defeated Moi in the last general election, will be laid to rest on Saturday, March 1, at his home in Tunoiwo, Baringo North.
During the visit, Moi expressed his sympathies to the grieving family and acknowledged Cheptumo’s contributions to the county and the nation at large.
Cheptumo’s passing has been met with an outpouring of grief from leaders across the political divide, with many hailing him as a dedicated public servant.
Preparations for his burial are underway, with leaders and residents expected to gather in large numbers to pay their last respects.
