Governor Jonathan Bii Pushes for Completion of Ward Offices to Enhance Service Delivery

Governor Jonathan Bii's administration has made significant strides in fulfilling its promise to bring government services closer to the people. As part of the Nguzo number nine deliverable, the County Government, through the Department of Devolution and Public Administration, is actively working on the construction of Sub-County and Ward offices. These offices are aimed at decentralizing vital services, ensuring better accessibility for citizens.

The services offered at the new ward offices will include licensing, veterinary services, planning approvals, bursary applications, artificial insemination (AI) services, and health services. The goal is to ensure that wananchi (citizens) can easily access these critical services without having to travel long distances to central government offices.

During a meeting, County Secretary Ambrose Tarus highlighted the county's commitment to the erection and timely completion of ward offices under Cluster 3, which targets areas such as Kapkures, Kipsomba, Tapsagoi, Huruma, and Moisbridge. The county is also focusing on the construction of ward offices in Langas, Kipkenyo, Megun, Ngeria, Kapsoya, and Cheptiret/Kipchamo.

"These offices are part of our broader strategy to improve service delivery and ensure that no citizen is left behind," said Tarus. He also urged all contractors involved in the projects to adhere to the set timelines and uphold high-quality standards in their work to ensure that the infrastructure serves the intended purpose.

The meeting was attended by various key officials, including Charles Kapkiai, Director of the Governor's Delivery Unit, Director Samwel Kiptoo (Administration), Deputy Directors Florence Lagat (Administration) and Kiptanui Barno (Public Participation and Civic Education), and Assistant Director Irene Saina. Also present were legal officers, procurement specialists, and engineers overseeing the construction process.

Governor Bii's administration continues to prioritize the timely completion of these infrastructure projects to ensure that citizens benefit from more efficient service delivery across the county.
