TransNzoia Governor George Natembeya has expressed his deepest condolences following the passing of former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chair, Wafula Chebukati. In a statement issued today, Governor Natembeya extended his heartfelt sympathies to the family, friends, and colleagues of Chebukati, praising his dedicated service to the nation.
"Wafula Chebukati's service to Kenya, especially in overseeing our electoral processes, will always be remembered," Governor Natembeya said. "His commitment to ensuring the integrity of the electoral system contributed significantly to the democratic progress of our nation."
Governor Natembeya also acknowledged the crucial role Chebukati played in strengthening Kenya's democratic institutions, noting that his leadership at the IEBC was marked by dedication, professionalism, and a strong sense of duty to the nation. "Chebukati was a man of great integrity, whose efforts in managing Kenya’s elections helped maintain the confidence of the Kenyan people in our democratic processes," the governor added.
