The Principal Secretary (PS) for Housing and Urban Development, Charles Hinga, today hosted the leadership of Migori County, led by Governor H.E Dr. Ochilo Ayacko, at the Ministry Headquarters in Nairobi. The meeting focused on key projects and programs aimed at enhancing housing and urban development across the county.
Governor Ayacko, accompanied by Senator Eddy Gicheru, the County Woman Representative, and seven Members of Parliament, engaged with PS Hinga to discuss initiatives that align with the national government's vision for sustainable urbanization and housing. The discussions centered on various development projects designed to address housing challenges and improve urban infrastructure in Migori.
“We are committed to ensuring that every citizen has access to affordable and quality housing. Today’s meeting marks a significant step in aligning our efforts with the national government to deliver better living conditions for the people of Migori,” Governor Ayacko remarked.
The meeting was part of ongoing efforts by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development to strengthen partnerships with county governments and support localized development initiatives. PS Hinga emphasized the importance of collaboration between national and county governments to achieve comprehensive urban development across Kenya.
“This is an exciting opportunity to work together and create sustainable housing solutions that will positively impact Migori County. We look forward to working closely with the county leadership to implement these important projects,” said PS Hinga.
The talks are expected to lead to the formulation of strategic plans that will address both current and future urban challenges in the region, particularly focusing on infrastructure, housing, and urban planning.
The delegation from Migori County also explored potential avenues for funding and support for their various proposed projects, as they look to enhance the quality of life for residents and promote economic growth within the county.
