Kenya Wildlife Service Director General, Prof. Erustus Kanga, today attended a session of the Joint Wildlife Sector Working Group at Nairobi Safari Club.
In his remarks, Prof. Kanga highlighted key challenges facing wildlife conservation in Kenya, particularly human-wildlife conflict in community conservancies.
He emphasized the need for joint strategizing and coordinated implementation of programs across all wildlife landscapes. He urged stakeholders to foster synergies, enhance collaboration, and ensure that local communities benefit from the wildlife economy.
Citing the rise in tourist numbers, Prof. Kanga encouraged stakeholders to diversify revenue streams and expand product offerings to strengthen the financial sustainability of conservancies.
