As thousands of students who sat for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) prepare to join higher learning institutions, education stakeholders have called on them to make informed decisions when selecting courses to ensure long-term career success.

Speaking during a thanksgiving ceremony at Kuywa Mixed Secondary School, teachers and administrators emphasized the importance of career counseling, urging students to choose courses that align with the demands of the modern job market.

School principal Isaac Musani lauded the teachers for their dedication, which contributed to the institution’s impressive academic performance. However, he urged the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to deploy more educators to support the school’s growing student population.

"While we celebrate our students' achievements, we must ensure they make career choices that will benefit them in today's highly competitive job market," Musani stated.

Since taking over leadership at Kuywa Mixed Secondary School, Musani has spearheaded initiatives aimed at strengthening collaboration between students and teachers, leading to improved academic outcomes. His vision is to transform the institution into a center of excellence, producing disciplined and high-achieving graduates.

Parents were also urged to continue working closely with the school to sustain strong academic performance and provide students with the necessary support in their educational journey.

With universities and colleges set to admit new students in the coming months, education experts continue to stress the need for informed course selection to bridge the gap between education and employment.
