Lugari MP Nabii Nabwera has led the constituency in mourning the passing of retired headteacher Mwalimu Masheti, who passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025, at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital.
In a heartfelt tribute, MP Nabwera described Mwalimu Masheti as more than just an educator, hailing him as a disciplinarian and a towering figure in the teaching profession. His decades of dedicated service in Lugari schools, including Majengo and Mugunga Comprehensive Schools, left an indelible mark on generations of students.
“Mwalimu Masheti was not just a teacher but a disciplinarian and a true icon in the teaching profession. He shaped the lives of many successful Lugarians, including my siblings and me, through his dedicated service. His commitment to education and discipline left a lasting impact on our community,” said MP Nabwera.
Mwalimu Masheti was revered for his unwavering dedication to academic excellence and character building. Many of his former students credit him with instilling values of hard work, discipline, and perseverance—qualities that have shaped their professional and personal lives.
Condolences to the Masheti Family
The legislator extended his deepest condolences to the bereaved family, particularly to Masheti’s grandson Cedric, whom he referred to as a close friend. He assured them of the community’s support during this difficult time.
