Moi University has announced the appointment of Prof. Kiplagat Kotut as the Acting Vice-Chancellor. Prof. Kotut, a distinguished academic leader, was previously serving as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Academics, Research, and Extension at Embu University, one of Kenya’s best-managed public universities. His appointment marks a new chapter for the institution, as he steps in to guide the university towards greater achievements.
With a career spanning several decades, Prof. Kotut has a wealth of experience in academia. He joined Embu University in 2012 and previously served at Kenyatta University, where he began as a Graduate Assistant in 1989. Over the years, he advanced to the position of Associate Professor, eventually becoming the Dean of the School of Pure and Applied Sciences. Prof. Kotut's exemplary leadership and academic excellence make him well-suited to lead Moi University, as the institution seeks to regain its standing as a top-tier university in Kenya.

In addition to Prof. Kotut's appointment, Moi University also named Prof. Khaemba Ongeti as the new Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor. Prof. Ongeti, who is currently the Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies, Research & Innovation, brings a wealth of experience in academic leadership and research.
