Residents of Moi’s Bridge town and its surrounding areas will soon have access to a reliable supply of clean water as construction work continues on a major water project at River Nzoia.
The project, aimed at addressing persistent water shortages in the region, is being spearheaded by local authorities in collaboration with national government agencies. According to Moi’s Bridge Ward MCA Patrick Kimeli, the initiative is in response to the growing demand for clean water in the area, which has long suffered from unreliable supply.
“The ongoing work at River Nzoia is crucial in ensuring that Moi’s Bridge town and its environs receive a sustainable water supply. We are committed to improving essential services for our people, and access to clean water is a top priority,” said Kimeli.
The project involves the installation of water pipelines and infrastructure to facilitate efficient distribution to households and businesses. Residents have welcomed the initiative, expressing optimism that it will end the water challenges they have faced for years.
“We often struggle with water shortages, which affects our daily lives and businesses. This project gives us hope for a better future,” said a local trader, Mary Wanjiru.
Kimeli assured residents that the work is progressing well and urged them to remain patient as the final phases are completed. He also thanked stakeholders, including government agencies and community members, for their cooperation in making the project a reality.
Once completed, the project is expected to significantly improve access to clean water, enhance sanitation, and contribute to better living conditions for thousands of people in Moi’s Bridge and the surrounding areas.
