Kajiado South MP, Hon. Samuel Parashina, has hailed the commissioning of the long-awaited 67-kilometer Ilassit-Rombo-Taveta Road as a major milestone for the region. The project, launched by President William Ruto, comes at a cost of KSh9.4 billion and is expected to transform the agricultural and tourism sectors in this key border area linking the Rift Valley and Coast regions.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Parashina expressed optimism about the project's impact, emphasizing its potential to spur economic growth and open up development opportunities for local communities.

“This is a critical road that will not only enhance connectivity but also boost agricultural production and tourism in the region. We look forward to its timely completion,” he stated.

The MP was joined by a host of local leaders, including Kajiado East MP Kakuta Maimai and Nominated Senator Peris Tobiko, among others, as they welcomed President Ruto to the historic occasion.

The Ilassit-Rombo-Taveta Road has been a long-standing priority for residents, with its construction expected to improve access to markets, facilitate trade, and enhance regional integration. As the project takes shape, leaders and stakeholders are optimistic that it will serve as a catalyst for economic transformation in the region.
