Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya on Friday received a comprehensive report from the select committee tasked with overseeing the selection of the County Public Service Board Secretary, a position that has remained vacant for an extended period.
Speaking after receiving the report, Governor Natembeya commended the committee, led by Chairperson Albert Gumo, for their diligent work, stating it will pave the way for the next phase of the selection process.
"I applaud the committee for their dedication and thoroughness. This report is a critical milestone that brings us closer to filling this vital role," Natembeya said.
The Governor confirmed he will soon present the name of the nominee to the County Assembly’s Committee on Appointments for vetting and approval.
"I am committed to ensuring that we appoint a qualified and competent individual who will strengthen our county's public service," he added.
The selection of the Public Service Board Secretary is seen as key to enhancing administrative efficiency within the county government.
