The National Land Commission (NLC) is taking significant steps to strengthen governance and accountability within its operations. Chief Executive Officer CHRP Kabale Tache Arero chaired an Exit Meeting on the Governance Audit, focusing on the effectiveness of the Commission, its committees, and the Secretariat.
The audit, covering the period from July 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024, provided a comprehensive evaluation of the Commission's performance and governance structures. Attended by members of the Secretariat, the review assessed how well the Commission and its supporting bodies have functioned, ensuring efficiency and accountability in land management.
“The findings from this audit will guide our efforts to strengthen the Commission’s effectiveness and ensure it continues to fulfill its mandate with transparency and integrity,” said CEO Arero.
The audit identified key strengths, areas for improvement, and actionable insights to enhance governance practices moving forward. By addressing these findings, the NLC aims to improve service delivery, policy implementation, and overall operational efficiency.
This initiative aligns with the Commission’s commitment to upholding high governance standards and ensuring that land management in Kenya remains fair, transparent, and efficient.
