NGAAF Empowerment Program Launched in Cianda Ward, Kiambu County

The National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) empowerment program has officially kicked off in Cianda Ward, Kiambaa, Kiambu County, with the distribution of non-refundable cheques to registered and vetted groups. This initiative is aimed at enhancing livelihoods and promoting economic stability for local communities.

The first beneficiaries of the program include Kiambaa All Seasons Farmers Self-Help Group (SHG), Cianda Young Mothers Group, Kawaida Central Women Group, and in a significant move to support the boy child, the Banhill Bodaboda Welfare Group.

These empowerment programs are part of a broader government initiative to support community-driven projects that contribute to sustainable economic development across Kiambu County. The cheques provided to the groups will go toward funding initiatives that will improve agricultural production, support women’s empowerment, and assist the youth, particularly young men involved in the bodaboda (motorcycle taxi) sector.

The initiative reflects the government’s commitment to inclusive development, ensuring that both women and men, as well as vulnerable groups, are empowered to contribute meaningfully to the region's growth.

More regions within Kiambu are expected to benefit from this empowerment program as it continues to roll out across the county, further strengthening economic opportunities and community cohesion.
