Nyandarua Senator Methu John Muhia Expresses Gratitude for Leadership Role as He Bows Out



Nyandarua Senator Methu John Muhia has officially bid farewell to his leadership roles in the Senate, expressing heartfelt gratitude for the opportunities to serve under President William Samoei Ruto’s administration. Muhia served as the Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Lands, Environment and Natural Resources, as well as a member of the County Public Accounts Committee for the past two and a half years.

In a statement released to the public, Senator Muhia thanked the President and his United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party for entrusting him with such significant leadership responsibilities. "I thank William Samoei Ruto and his UDA party for giving me the opportunity to serve as the Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Lands, Environment and Natural Resources and also as a member of the County Public Accounts Committee for the last two and a half years," Muhia said.

Reflecting on his tenure, the Senator described it as an incredible honor to serve in the house leadership at such a capacity. "It was such an honor to serve in the house leadership at that capacity," he stated, acknowledging the crucial role played by the committees in shaping policies and overseeing the country’s resources.

While expressing his decision to step down, Muhia emphasized that the political path he had consciously chosen contributed to this change. Despite the political shifts, he conveyed no regrets about his decision. "The political choice I have consciously made contributes to the stripping, but I bow out with absolutely no regrets," he remarked, hinting at the challenges and sacrifices inherent in the decision.

Muhia’s departure marks the end of a significant chapter in his political career, one that has seen him at the forefront of critical national discussions on lands, environment, and natural resources, as well as public accountability at the county level. His legacy in the committees will likely be remembered for his dedication to advancing the country’s natural resource policies and improving public financial management.
