Residents of Seet, Ngara Falls, and Chepyakwai areas in Ngeria Ward, Kapseret Sub-County, have expressed immense gratitude to Uasin Gishu County Governor, Dr. Jonathan Bii, following the successful completion of a new Box Culvert and several road maintenance projects. The projects, which were completed on Monday, have been widely praised for their significant impact on the local community.
Led by local leaders David Lagat and Dominic Tanui, residents gathered to celebrate the developments, highlighting the positive changes that the projects will bring. They pointed out that the road improvements and new culvert will enhance accessibility, particularly during the heavy rainy season, which had previously led to flooding, property damage, and disruptions in daily life.
"Today we are very happy. I want to express my deepest gratitude to Governor Jonathan Bii for his incredible intervention. Accessing important services was a big challenge during heavy rainfall; this area could flood, and our children suffered a lot," said David Lagat, a local resident.
Before the completion of the culvert, residents had relied on a temporary bridge built by white settlers many years ago. This bridge had frequently been submerged during the rainy season, exacerbating flooding, damaging crops, and threatening the safety of those living in the area.
Governor Bii’s efforts in addressing these long-standing challenges have been hailed as a transformative move for the community.
Roads Chief Officer Geoffrey Tanui confirmed that the county is continuing with similar projects across Uasin Gishu, with a focus on improving road connectivity and infrastructure to support agriculture and overall development.
"We are committed to hastening the completion of all ongoing Box Culverts and road projects across the county," Tanui stated. "These interventions are aimed at boosting the economy, improving transportation, and ensuring better access to services for all our residents."
The successful completion of these infrastructure projects is seen as a crucial step in improving the quality of life for the people of Seet, Ngara Falls, and Chepyakwai, and signals continued progress under Governor Bii's leadership.
