Trans Nzoia County Flags Off Team for EALASCA Games in Uganda



Trans Nzoia County’s team, selected from various sports disciplines, has been officially flagged off to represent Kenya in the highly anticipated East African Local Authorities Sports and Cultural Association (EALASCA) Games. The regional event will be held in Kampala, Uganda, from February 21 to 28, 2025.

The flag-off ceremony took place at the County Headquarters, where County Secretary Truphosa Amere led the event, offering words of encouragement to the athletes. "As you step onto the field, remember that you are ambassadors of Trans Nzoia County and the entire nation," Amere said. "Play with integrity and strive for excellence."

The team, comprising top athletes from the region, is looking forward to showcasing their talents in the prestigious competition, which gathers participants from East African counties and municipalities. The EALASCA Games, known for promoting regional cooperation and talent development, feature a variety of sporting and cultural events.

Chief Officer for Sports, Jane Wachwenge, expressed confidence in the team’s abilities, wishing them success in the upcoming competition. "We believe in your talent and commitment. Go out there and make us proud," she said.

Adding to the well-wishes, Chief Officer for Public Service Management, Mr. Philip Kaptain, encouraged the athletes to maintain high spirits of sportsmanship and unity as they represent the county on the international stage.

The Trans Nzoia County team is determined to bring home gold medals as they compete against teams from across the East African region. With their dedication and hard work, they are set to make a lasting impact in the games, furthering Trans Nzoia’s reputation in the world of sports.
