Youth+ Festival Set to Empower Over 4,500 Young Professionals in Its Game-Changing Second Edition

The highly anticipated Youth+ Festival returns for its second edition from February 28th to March 1st, 2025, at the Sarit Expo Centre, bringing together 4,500 young professionals and entrepreneurs for a transformative experience. The event will be a hub of knowledge-sharing, mentorship, and skills development aimed at empowering Kenya’s youth to shape their futures through innovation, industry expertise, and market opportunities.

This year’s theme, ‘Live Your Legacy,’ focuses on encouraging participants to embrace their potential and build lasting legacies. The festival promises to offer a wealth of insights through keynote speeches, dynamic panel discussions, and 24 curated festival villages, each targeting specific industry skills. The festival’s diverse program ensures young professionals gain practical expertise in critical areas such as Financial Wellness, E-commerce, Digital & Influencer Marketing, Tech & Innovation, and Climate & Sustainability.

Among the star-studded lineup of speakers is Vusi Thembekwayo, the internationally acclaimed entrepreneur and motivational speaker, who will headline the event on Day 2. The festival’s 24 skill-building villages, led by industry experts, will be tailored to equip attendees with real-world insights and hands-on training to further their professional ambitions.

Freddy Mulli, CEO of Youth+ Africa, emphasized the festival’s goal to equip the youth with essential tools for success. “At Youth+, we believe that Kenya’s youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow, but the changemakers of today. By providing the right skills, mentorship, and market access, we’re redefining opportunities for young entrepreneurs to create sustainable businesses,” Mulli said.

In addition to Vusi Thembekwayo, the festival will feature influential industry figures such as Ivy Wanjiru, founder of JustIvy Africa, Tonee Ndungu, an AI thought leader, Waceke Nduati, founder of Centonomy, Terry Muikamba, media strategist, Phil Karanja, CEO of Philit TV, and Melanie Keita Mariam, CEO and co-founder of Melanin Kapital Neobank, who will all offer valuable mentorship and share their experiences.

Building on the success of the inaugural 2023 Youth+ Festival, which attracted over 1,400 attendees and showcased 15 innovative ideas, this year’s event promises even greater impact. The inaugural festival was launched in response to Kenya's growing youth unemployment rate, which currently stands at 67%. The festival aims to address this challenge by equipping young people with the knowledge, networks, and skills needed to thrive in today’s fast-evolving economy.

The second edition of Youth+ will also offer key opportunities for market linkages, financing options, apprenticeship programs, and policy advocacy, which are vital for sustaining Kenya’s 7.4 million micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). Many of these businesses face challenges in surviving beyond their first two years, and the festival seeks to provide the resources and support necessary for long-term success.

Youth+ Africa’s mission is to bridge the gap between youth potential and economic opportunity by creating a platform for entrepreneurship, skill development, and networking. With a growing number of young Kenyans entering the workforce, initiatives like the Youth+ Festival are helping pave the way for future economic growth, empowering a generation to lead the way with passion, innovation, and impact.
