AIC Chebisaas Girls' School Principal, Jane Akandie, has strongly dismissed as "baseless and malicious" the allegations that a KCSE candidate at the school was beaten and injured by an unnamed member of staff.
Speaking to the press at her office, Principal Akandie provided a detailed account of the incident, refuting claims that the student had been physically assaulted. According to Akandie, the student, who is currently receiving treatment at an Eldoret hospital, fainted due to an undisclosed medical condition and was promptly rushed to the hospital as per the school's code of procedure. "Her parents were consequently informed of the development," the principal clarified, emphasizing that the school's response followed the established protocols.
The matter, which has captured significant attention on social media for the past fortnight, is currently under investigation by relevant authorities. The circulating rumors of an assault had caused widespread concern, prompting public outcry, but Principal Akandie hopes that the clarification will help calm the unrest.
"The allegations are completely unfounded," she stated, urging the public to await the findings of the ongoing investigation. Akandie reassured the community that the school continues to prioritize the safety and well-being of its students, and all procedures were followed appropriately in response to the incident.
As the investigation progresses, authorities are working to verify the facts surrounding the case, with both the school and parents cooperating fully to bring clarity to the situation. Meanwhile, the school has urged the public to be cautious in spreading unverified information.
