Leaders from the Mulembe nation have renewed calls for Luhya unity ahead of the burial of Malava MP Malulu Injendi, emphasizing the need for a united front to strengthen the community’s political influence.
Speaking during a requiem mass at Injendi’s Lugusi home, Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka and other leaders underscored the importance of speaking with one voice to enhance the community’s bargaining power at the national level.

"Like Injendi, I have never been in the opposition because we always make timely and informed decisions," Lusaka remarked.
The governor lauded Injendi’s resilience and political acumen, highlighting his ability to defy the odds and secure three consecutive terms in office.
Additionally, Lusaka called for respect towards the current senior-most Luhya leaders, noting that National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula and Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi hold key positions in national leadership.
