A delegation from the Commission for University Education (CUE) has embarked on a four-day evaluation and audit visit to Moi University, which began on Monday, March 10, 2025.
The team, led by CUE CEO Prof. Mike Kuria and Chairman Prof. Ratemo Michieka, was warmly welcomed by Prof. Khaemba Ongeti, the Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Research, and Extension (ARE&SA). Prof. Ongeti represented the institution's Acting Vice-Chancellor during the visit.
The purpose of the visit is to assess and audit Moi University's academic programs, infrastructure, and overall adherence to the standards set by the Commission. This evaluation is a crucial part of ensuring that the institution meets the necessary criteria for continued accreditation and can further its mission of providing high-quality education.
Prof. Ongeti expressed the university's commitment to maintaining high academic standards and welcomed the evaluation, noting that it provides an opportunity for constructive feedback that will guide the institution toward further improvements.
During the visit, the CUE delegation will engage with various university departments, faculty members, and staff to gather insights and ensure that Moi University continues to meet the rigorous academic and operational standards required for excellence in higher education.
The delegation’s findings and recommendations will be integral to the university’s strategic planning as it works toward enhancing its academic and research capabilities.
