Curtains Draw in the EALASCA Games Held in Kampala

 



The 14th Edition of East African Local Authorities Sports and Cultural Association (EALASCA) games, came to an end on a high note in Kampala with Kenya bagging almost all the trophies. 


The games that incorporated Kenya Inter Counties Sports and Cultural Association (KICOSCA), Kenya County Assembly Sports Association (CASA) and the staff from the Office of Mayor, Kampala Capital City  Authority (KCCA) and City of Jinja and Mbale saw different games displayed in the field of tug of war, scrabble, athletes, darts, soccer and cultural dance among others.


During the closing ceremony,  The CASA Chair, Hon. Peter Imwatok said East African Community stand united in celebrating the spirit that binds the region as one.


He emphasized that the very best of East Africa was witnessed by coming together, pushing boundaries, challenging limits, and showcasing the incredible talent that thrives within the diverse nations.


The Chair Person of  Busia  County Public Service Board,  Hon. Michael Onyura who witnessed the closing ceremony said each medal won and each personal best achieved, serves as a testamony to the unwavering dedication and commitment of our sporting activities in the county and Kenya as a whole.


Onyura said beyond the competitive spirit, these games have been a platform for fostering deeper connections, forging new friendships, and reaffirming East Africans shared identity.


The County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Sports, Youths, Culture, Gender Affairs and Social Services, Mr Paul Olunga Ekwenye send a congratulatory message to Busia County especially Tug of war men and women, scrabble and Darts and team Kenya as a whole for the outstanding performances. 


Hon. Paul Mugambe Mayor of Nakawa in Uganda thanked the organizers, volunteers, and supporters, for their tireless efforts to make sure the event was successful.


As East Africa bid farewell to the edition of the EALASCA games, Mayor Mugambe emphasized the need to exercise  the spirit of unity, excellence and sportsmanship, knowing that together, we can achieve even greater things.
