On Day 10 of the ongoing free maize seed distribution program, Transnzoia Governor George Natembeya visited Kwanza Ward and Bishop Muge to meet with hundreds of vulnerable farmers who received high-quality maize seeds as part of the Fukuza Njaa Initiative.
The initiative, aimed at supporting farmers in need, is a reflection of Governor Natembeya's commitment to tackling hunger and poverty in the region. Speaking to the gathered farmers, the Governor emphasized the importance of brotherhood and solidarity in addressing the challenges faced by the most vulnerable members of the community.
"The Fukuza Njaa Initiative is about coming together as one—lifting each other up and providing for those in need," said Governor Natembeya. "Let us all be our brother’s keeper, working together to eradicate hunger and poverty in Transnzoia. Tupendane, tulindane, and pamoja tufukuze njaa," he added, urging the community to support each other and create a stronger, more resilient region.
The distribution of maize seeds is part of a broader strategy to ensure food security and empower local farmers with the tools they need to succeed. Governor Natembeya reiterated his administration’s dedication to supporting agricultural initiatives that will provide sustainable livelihoods for the people of Transnzoia.
As the initiative continues, many farmers expressed their gratitude for the assistance, which will help them boost their yields and improve their lives. With more distributions planned, the Fukuza Njaa Initiative is steadily making a significant impact in the fight against hunger in the region.
