Forestry Principal Secretary Mr. Gitonga Mugambi, together with his Diaspora Affairs counterpart Ms. Roseline Njogu, today launched the Diaspora Recruitment Drive at Meru National Polytechnic. The two-day event, themed #KaziMajuu, aims to recruit and interview professionals across various fields, including chefs, nurses, and skilled traders, for international employment opportunities in line with the Kenya Kwanza administration’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
The initiative is part of the government’s broader efforts to expand economic opportunities for Kenyans globally by facilitating structured labor migration. By connecting skilled workers with international job markets, the program seeks to enhance employment prospects, boost remittances, and strengthen Kenya’s economic growth.
Beyond recruitment, the event also incorporated a tree-growing exercise at Meru Forest Station, reinforcing the government’s commitment to environmental conservation through the 15 Billion Tree Growing Programme. This underscores the administration’s focus on both economic empowerment and sustainable development.
The recruitment drive is expected to provide life-changing opportunities for hundreds of Kenyans, enabling them to secure meaningful employment abroad while contributing to Kenya’s economic resilience.
