Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua Acknowledges Warm Reception from Machakos Residents

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua received a warm and enthusiastic welcome from the people of Machakos town after attending a church service at the Gospel Confirmation Centre (GCC) in Machakos County on Sunday.

Following the service, Gachagua took time to acknowledge greetings from the locals at Machakos Bus Park, where he expressed his gratitude for the continued support and hospitality from the residents of the region.

In a brief address to the crowd, Gachagua shared his appreciation, saying, “Asanteni Sana Macha!” which translates to “Thank you very much, Machakos!” His statement was met with cheers and applause from the gathered crowd, many of whom were eager to engage with the former deputy president.

Gachagua’s visit to Machakos comes amidst his ongoing efforts to strengthen ties with different regions and maintain his presence in Kenya's political landscape. The former deputy president, who played a crucial role in the previous administration, has continued to be an influential figure in the political scene, with his visits and interactions further solidifying his connection with local communities.

The visit to Machakos also highlights Gachagua’s commitment to engaging with citizens beyond the formal political sphere, with his participation in church services showcasing his connection to faith-based activities as well.

Residents at the bus park expressed their appreciation for Gachagua’s visit, noting that such interactions are essential in bridging the gap between political leaders and the people they serve. Many also reflected on the work done during the previous administration and expressed hope for future collaborations in the development of their region.

As Gachagua continues his travels and engagements across the country, political analysts believe that his visible presence in various regions may signal his intent to play a more prominent role in the country’s political discourse moving forward.
