Garissa Governor Hon. Nathif J. Adam had the honor and privilege of hosting three exceptional young students from Markaz Umul-Quran of Garissa at his Nairobi office earlier today. These bright students were in the capital to participate in the prestigious Quran Memorization and Recitation Competition, an annual event held at BBS Mall in Eastleigh, which attracts talented Quran scholars from across the country.
Governor Nathif expressed his immense pride in the students’ remarkable achievements in the highly competitive event. Somane Ibrahim, competing in the 10 Juz’ category, emerged victorious, securing 1st place, while Imran Mohamed, representing Garissa in the 15 Juz’ category, achieved a commendable 3rd place. Their success is a reflection of hard work, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to mastering the Quran, a skill that demands discipline, patience, and deep spiritual devotion.
The Governor extended his heartfelt congratulations to the young scholars, their families, and their teacher, Sheikh Nuh Abdi Aden, who played a pivotal role in mentoring and guiding them to success. He commended Sheikh Nuh for his tireless efforts in nurturing young minds, emphasizing the importance of investing in religious education to uphold cultural and spiritual values.
