The outgoing Principal Secretary for the State Department of Shipping and Maritime Affairs, Geoffrey Kaituko, has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to His Excellency President Dr. William Samoei Ruto, Commander-in-Chief of the Kenya Defense Forces, for entrusting him with a new ambassadorial role. In his remarkable civil service career, Kaituko has proven to be a dedicated and transformational leader, leaving an indelible mark in every docket he has served.


Having previously held the position of Principal Secretary in the State Department for Labor and Skills Development, Mr. Kaituko now steps into his new diplomatic assignment with his head held high, a legacy of impactful leadership, and an unwavering commitment to national service. His tenure at the State Department of Shipping and Maritime Affairs was marked by progressive reforms and policy frameworks that have propelled the sector to new heights, cementing Kenya’s maritime industry as a key player in regional and global trade.

"I wish to express my profound gratitude to President William Ruto for his continued trust and confidence in my ability to discharge my duties and subsequently promoting me to a higher calling to serve as an envoy in Rome. Having served as Principal Secretary in two dockets – Labor & Skills Development and Shipping and Maritime Affairs – I am eager and ready to embark on my next assignment."


He further extended his appreciation to the President for his previous appointments as an Advisor and Principal Secretary, as well as for the prestigious Chief of the Burning Spear (CBS) state award in recognition of his exemplary service to the nation.


"As always, I fully commit to work efficiently, transparently, and diligently towards the full delivery and achievement of BETA goals for the betterment of the great people of Kenya. I am particularly motivated by the prospect of embarking on my overseas role to cement Kenya on the world map," he added.
