Geoffrey Kaituko Expresses Gratitude to President Ruto Upon Reassignment to Ambassadorial Role

 



In a heartfelt message, Geoffrey Kaituko, the outgoing Principal Secretary of the State Department of Shipping and Maritime Affairs, expressed his profound gratitude to His Excellency, Dr. William Samoei Ruto, President of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Kenya Defense Forces, for reassigning him to an ambassadorial role. Mr. Kaituko, a committed and highly dedicated civil servant, has been instrumental in the transformation of the State Department of Shipping and Maritime Affairs, leaving behind a legacy of positive reforms and policy advancements.


During his tenure, Mr. Kaituko championed key initiatives that elevated the department to new heights, pushing forward transformative changes that positively impacted Kenya’s maritime sector. His efforts in the State Department of Labor and Skills Development also left a significant mark, showcasing his versatility and commitment to public service.


In his message, Mr. Kaituko conveyed his gratitude, acknowledging the trust and confidence President Ruto has consistently placed in him throughout his career. He expressed deep appreciation for the promotion to an envoy role, which he described as a higher calling. He also took the opportunity to thank the President for his previous appointments, including his role as Advisor and Principal Secretary, as well as the honor of receiving the Moran of the Chief of the Burning Spear (CBS) state award.


“I wish to express my profound gratitude to President William Ruto for his continued trust and confidence in my ability to discharge my duties and subsequently promoting me to a higher calling to serve as an envoy in Rome,” Kaituko stated.


He went on to reflect on his service in two crucial portfolios—Labor & Skills Development and Shipping & Maritime Affairs—and expressed enthusiasm for his upcoming assignment. “Having served as principal secretary in two Dockets, I am eager and ready to embark on my next assignment,” he added.


With a clear focus on the future, Kaituko emphasized his commitment to Kenya's development, stating that he would continue to work efficiently, transparently, and diligently to achieve the country’s BETA goals, which aim to improve the lives of Kenyans. He also expressed excitement about the opportunity to represent Kenya on the world stage, motivated by the chance to further enhance the country’s global standing.


Mr. Kaituko’s departure marks the conclusion of a distinguished chapter in the State Department of Shipping and Maritime Affairs, but his vision and leadership will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact as he takes on his new role.
