Goibei Girls’ High School Principal,Dr. Rose Koech, has refuted allegations of financial impropriety, terming them baseless and politically motivated.
The embattled administrator has called for an independent audit to ascertain the truth, insisting that all school funds are managed through official channels with strict oversight.
Reports surfaced accusing the principal of operating suspicious M-Pesa accounts allegedly used to solicit funds from parents under false pretenses.
The claims, which have ignited a storm among stakeholders, suggest that a Form Four leaver was coerced into paying Ksh 5,000 for lost books—funds allegedly wired to the principal’s personal number. However, Koech has dismissed the accusations as a smear campaign aimed at discrediting her leadership, insisting that all financial transactions within the institution adhere to standard accounting procedures.
In a statement to the press, the principal decried what she termed as deliberate misinformation, stating that any payments required from students are made through the school’s official accounts.
She challenged those leveling accusations to provide concrete evidence rather than peddle hearsay.
“These allegations are not only misleading but also calculated to tarnish my reputation. I welcome any thorough probe into the school’s finances,” she asserted.
Principal , however, maintains that she has been steadfast in enforcing discipline and transparency—moves that may have ruffled feathers among those opposed to change.
Meanwhile, Mrs.Koech remains at the helm, reiterating her commitment to upholding integrity and ensuring Goibei Girls’ Secondary School continues to thrive academically.
