The government has launched the JKIA Service Delivery Charter 2025, a key framework aimed at improving efficiency, security, and customer experience at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
Speaking at the signing ceremony and progress report presentation at JKIA, Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration Kipchumba Murkomen emphasized the government's commitment to ensuring world-class aviation standards at Kenya’s main international gateway.
“JKIA is a vital hub for trade, investment, and tourism in the East and Central African region. To maintain its position as a leading airport, we must continuously improve service delivery, operational efficiency, and customer experience,” said CS Murkomen.
The charter was developed by a multi-agency team comprising key airport stakeholders and service providers, with the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) leading coordination efforts. Some of the performance standards outlined in the charter have already been implemented, leading to notable improvements in passenger experience.
CS Murkomen reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to working closely with other agencies at the airport under a whole-of-government approach to enhance security, protect the country from criminal threats, and align JKIA with international best practices.
The charter will also be cascaded to other airports across the country to standardize service delivery.
The event was attended by CSs Davis Chirchir (Transport), Hon. Rebecca Miano, EGH (Tourism), Inspector General Douglas Kanja, DIG-KPS Eliud Lagat, PSs Mohamed Daghar (Transport), John Ololtuaa (Tourism), Nicholas Bodo (KAA Acting MD), among other senior government officials.
