Governor Barasa Celebrates Eid ul-Fitr with Muslim Faithful in Butere, Pledges Continued Support for Community Development



Kakamega County Governor, Fernandes Barasa, joined Muslim faithful in Butere Sub-county this morning to celebrate Eid ul-Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan. The joyous occasion took place at Butere Girls Grounds, bringing together hundreds of community members in a spirit of unity and gratitude.

In his address, Governor Barasa highlighted his administration's ongoing commitment to supporting the religious community within Kakamega County. He emphasized that his government is dedicated to empowering religious groups, noting that various programs, including social protection grants, are being rolled out to uplift all sectors of society.

"We are fully committed to supporting every community in Kakamega County, including our Muslim brothers and sisters. Through empowerment programs and social protection grants, we aim to make sure that all our residents benefit from inclusive development," Governor Barasa stated.

The Governor also shared updates on key infrastructure projects in the region. He announced that the Butere Level IV Hospital will be officially commissioned once it is fully equipped, ensuring that the people of Butere will have access to improved healthcare services.

In addition, Governor Barasa assured residents that the construction of Shiatsala Market would be completed in the next financial year, a project expected to boost local trade and provide economic opportunities for the people of Butere.

The celebration was attended by various Members of the County Assembly (MCAs), led by the host, CPA Philip Maina, as well as members of the County Executive. The gathering reflected the Governor's inclusive leadership and his continued efforts to engage with all communities across Kakamega County.

Governor Barasa’s message underscored the importance of unity, development, and the shared responsibility of building a stronger, more prosperous Kakamega for all its residents.
