Governor Sakaja Inspects Joe Kadenge Stadium Renovation

As part of the ongoing efforts to monitor and ensure the smooth progression of the stadia construction projects across the county, Nairobi Governor H.E. Sakaja Johnson inspected the ongoing renovation of Joe Kadenge Stadium (formerly City Stadium) this afternoon.

Joe Kadenge Stadium is one of the stadia the Sakaja administration is constructing all across the county, including Woodley Stadium in Kibra and Kihumbuini Stadium, Kangemi among other grounds.

One of the significant milestones already achieved is the laying of drainage pipes, which is essential for ensuring proper water management and preventing future floods. Currently, the county is laying the artificial turf on the ground.

The renovation of Joe Kadenge Stadium is in line with Governor Sakaja’s commitment to construct and improve sports facilities in Nairobi to give youth an opportunity to nurture and grow their talents.

The Governor was accompanied by County Executive for Talent, Skill Development Mr. Brian Mulama and Chief Officer for Youth, Talents and Sports Mr. Oscar Igaida.
