Growing up, I always felt like an outsider in my own family. My name is James Okayo, the lastborn in a family of four. My elder siblings were always the pride of our parents, showered with love, opportunities, and attention. Meanwhile, I was seen as the black sheep—ignored, underestimated, and left out of important family matters.
Even though I tried my best to impress them, nothing I did was ever good enough. My elder brother and sister were given the best education, started businesses with my father’s help, and were constantly praised for their achievements.
