Kiambu County Woman Representative Hon. Ann Wamuratha delivered a powerful message on faithful giving during a service at ACK St. James Ribarori, where she was hosted by Rev. Joseph Waweru. Drawing from Mark 12:30, she reminded the congregation of the greatest commandment:
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength."
Hon. Wamuratha emphasized that true giving is not about the amount but the heart behind it. She urged the faithful to trust in God’s provision, even when giving requires sacrifice, just as illustrated in Mark 12:41-44, where a poor widow gave her last two small coins.
“Our giving is not measured by how much we have, but by our faith and trust in God,” she said. “When we give in faith, we are acknowledging that God is our provider, and He will multiply and bless whatever we surrender to Him.”
Rev. Joseph Waweru, while welcoming Hon. Wamuratha, reinforced the message by reminding the congregation that giving should come from the heart. “God does not look at the size of our offering, but at the faith behind it,” he said. “The widow in the Bible gave all she had, not because she had plenty, but because she trusted in God’s provision.”
Hon. Wamuratha called on believers to embrace a spirit of generosity, not out of obligation, but as an act of worship. She urged them to surrender their resources, talents, and time to God, knowing that He is the ultimate sustainer.
As the service concluded, the congregation left with a renewed understanding that giving is not just about material wealth, but about love, faith, and trust in God. It is in those moments of sacrifice that He opens doors, provides solutions, and makes a way where there seems to be none.
