Education remains a top priority in Limuru Constituency, and Hon. Eng. Kiragu Chege, the area Member of Parliament, led the first phase of bursary cheque disbursement to support local secondary school students. The event took place at Manguo Secondary School, where bursaries were issued to day school students from Bibirioni, Ngecha/Tigoni, and Limuru Central wards.
The bursary program aims to ease the financial burden on parents while ensuring that no student is left behind due to a lack of school fees. The initiative underscores Hon. Kiragu’s unwavering commitment to making education accessible, inclusive, and a powerful tool for transformation in the constituency.
The bursary issuance will continue at Muna Secondary School for Limuru East students and at Makutano Secondary School for students from Ndeiya Ward. Additional bursaries will soon be extended to students in day secondary schools outside Limuru, university and college students, as well as boarding school students within and outside Limuru.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Kiragu Chege reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to empowering students through education, quoting Benjamin Franklin: “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.” The bursary program is part of a broader vision to bridge the education gap, empower young minds, and create a brighter future for the youth of Limuru.
The event was attended by key stakeholders, including the Limuru NG-CDF Committee, Hon. Kiragu’s office representatives, school principals and educators, local chiefs, Limuru Sub-County TSC Directors, religious leaders, the Manguo Secondary School fraternity, and parents. As the bursary rollout continues, the MP urged parents and students to remain engaged in their education journey, emphasizing that no deserving student should miss school due to financial constraints.
