In a bold move to enhance education infrastructure, Kabete Member of Parliament Hon. James Githua Kamau, popularly known as Wamacukuru, is spearheading the construction of new storeyed classroom blocks in several schools across the constituency. This initiative aims to maximize space utilization in schools with limited land while catering to the rising number of students.
Under his leadership, major education infrastructure projects are currently underway at Karura Ka Nyungu, Uthiru, Mahiaini, King'eero, Ndurarua, and Kibiku comprehensive schools. These schools are set to benefit from additional modern classrooms, ensuring a better learning environment for students.
One of the flagship projects under this initiative is the ongoing construction of a four-classroom block at Kibiku Comprehensive School, fully funded by the Kabete National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF). This project underscores Hon. Wamacukuru’s dedication to improving educational facilities and expanding opportunities for learners in Kabete.
Speaking about the initiative, the MP emphasized the importance of investing in education infrastructure, stating:
"With the increasing number of students, we must ensure that our schools have adequate space and facilities to provide a conducive learning environment. These storeyed classroom blocks will not only accommodate more learners but also enhance the quality of education in Kabete."
Hon. Wamacukuru’s focus on education development aligns with his broader vision of uplifting Kabete through quality education, improved infrastructure, and sustainable development projects. Residents and education stakeholders have lauded his efforts, acknowledging that these projects will have a lasting impact on the community.
As construction progresses, learners, teachers, and parents eagerly anticipate the completion of these modern classroom blocks, which are expected to significantly ease congestion and improve the overall learning experience.
