Hon. Wanjala and Hon. Museo Retain Leadership of Implementation Committee

Hon. Raphael Wanjala, the Budalang’i Member of Parliament, and Hon. Rose Museo of Makueni County have been re-elected unopposed as Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson, respectively, of the Committee on Implementation. The two lawmakers will continue to lead the 21-member Committee for the remainder of the 13th Parliament.

During the recent reconstitution of the Committee, four new members joined the ranks, including Hon. Jessica Mbalu (Kibwezi East), Hon. Komingoi Kibet (Bureti), Hon. Kitilai Ole Ntutu (Narok South), and Hon. Chege Njuguna (Kandara). These additions are expected to bring fresh perspectives and energy to the Committee's work.

In their acceptance remarks, both Hon. Wanjala and Hon. Museo emphasized the importance of accelerating the implementation of House resolutions, particularly those whose deadlines have long since passed. “Over the next phase of our work, we must prioritize fast-tracking implementation of House resolutions, especially those whose implementation timelines have been long overdue,” Hon. Wanjala stated.

The re-elected leaders expressed gratitude to the Committee members for their unwavering confidence and support. Hon. Wanjala acknowledged the challenges the Committee has faced in executing some of the House resolutions but reassured that the focus would now shift to action, with a commitment to achieving tangible results.

Reflecting on the Committee’s performance during its two and a half years of tenure, Hon. Wanjala reported significant progress. The Committee has already dealt with over 30 individual reports during the first half of the 13th Parliament. "As of now, we have tabled three omnibus reports: the First Omnibus Report on October 26th, 2023, containing five reports; the Second Omnibus Report with fifteen reports; and the Third Omnibus Report on December 5th, 2024, which contained twenty reports. In total, thirty individual reports have been dispensed with,” Hon. Wanjala informed the Committee.

The renewed leadership of Hon. Wanjala and Hon. Museo is set to guide the Committee in its continued efforts to ensure the timely and effective implementation of parliamentary resolutions in the remaining period of the 13th Parliament.
