The Deputy Inspector General of the Kenya Police Service (KPS), Mr. Eliud Lagat, presided over an investiture ceremony this morning at the Kenya Police Service Headquarters in Nairobi, marking the promotion of several senior officers. The ceremony celebrated the achievements of the newly promoted officers and emphasized their role in driving police reforms across the country.
Mr. Lagat congratulated the officers on their well-earned promotions, urging them to take leadership in transforming police stations into centers of excellence for public service delivery. "These promotions are a recognition of your dedication and commitment to duty. I urge you to lead by example and spearhead reforms that will positively impact our service to the public," said Mr. Lagat.
Among the officers promoted were the KPS Director of Operations, Mr. Adamson Bungei, and the KPS Director of Personnel, Ms. Catherine W. Mugwe. Both were elevated from the rank of Assistant Inspector General (AIG) to Senior Assistant Inspector General (SAIG).
In addition, eight Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General (AIG), a significant step in their careers within the service.
Also present at the ceremony was the KPS Director of Logistics, Mr. Peter Ndungu, who was elevated to the rank of Senior Assistant Inspector General (SAIG).
The ceremony highlighted the continued growth and professional development within the Kenya Police Service and reaffirmed the commitment to enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of the force in serving the public. The newly promoted officers were encouraged to embrace their new responsibilities with a focus on further strengthening law enforcement and promoting community safety across the country.
