Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has strongly criticized the recent agreement between Opposition Leader Raila Odinga and President William Ruto, calling it the "biggest betrayal" of the Kenyan people.
Speaking to the press following the signing of the pact between Odinga and Ruto at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC), Musyoka expressed his dismay, stating that the move goes against the will of Kenyans. He emphasized that the People's Loyal Coalition, a political alliance he leads, would never betray the interests of the people for temporary political gain or comfort.
“What has come out of KICC today is the biggest BETRAYAL of Kenyans,” Musyoka declared. He further stressed that the People's Loyal Coalition remains committed to its cause, vowing to continue advocating for the rights and welfare of the citizens, rather than compromising them for short-term political arrangements.
Musyoka's remarks come after the high-profile meeting between Odinga and Ruto, which marks a significant shift in Kenya's political landscape. The agreement is seen by many as a potential step towards fostering national unity and cooperation between the two political heavyweights, who have been long-standing rivals.
However, Musyoka's comments reflect the division within the opposition, with his faction asserting that such political maneuvers threaten the democratic aspirations of the Kenyan people. The Wiper Party leader reiterated that his coalition remains resolute in its mission to fight for a fair and just political environment for all citizens.
As the political landscape continues to evolve, the impact of this pact on Kenya's future remains to be seen, with both supporters and critics weighing in on the long-term consequences of such a high-stakes agreement.
