Limuru Member of Parliament today spearheaded the distribution of Ksh 22,824,000 in bursary funds to parents of students from local day schools in Ndeiya Ward. The event, held at Makutano Secondary School, was part of an initiative aimed at enhancing access to education and ensuring the smooth operation of schools within the Limuru Constituency.
Addressing the gathered crowd, the MP emphasized the transformative power of education, quoting Nelson Mandela: "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." The bursary funds, which were issued through the Limuru National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF), aim to reduce the financial burden on parents and provide equal educational opportunities for students in the region.
The MP assured residents that under their leadership, bursaries would no longer be compromised and the application process would be streamlined to ensure fairness and accessibility. "We are committed to ensuring that no student is left behind due to financial constraints. We want to make sure every child in Limuru has the chance to pursue their dreams without the burden of school fees," the MP said.
In addition to the bursaries for local day schools, the MP announced that further communication would be provided on the disbursement of funds for students in day secondary schools outside Limuru, boarding schools both in and outside the constituency, as well as for university and college students.
The event was attended by officials from the Limuru NG-CDF, the MP’s office, local administration, clergy, school principals from Ndeiya, parents, and area residents, all of whom expressed their gratitude for the continued support in education.
The MP's office confirmed that the distribution of funds would continue throughout the constituency, ensuring that as many students as possible benefit from the bursaries. This move is seen as a significant effort to uplift education standards in Limuru and ensure that no student is deprived of the opportunity to learn.
