Magerer Langat has been appointed as the new County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Agriculture, Livestock, and Cooperative Development in Kericho County. His appointment was announced under the leadership of Governor H.E. Dr. Eric Kipkoech Mutai, who praised Langat’s wealth of experience and commitment to the development of the region.
Langat, a former Member of Parliament for Kipkelion and Assistant Minister in the Coalition Government between 2008 and 2012, brings a wealth of political and administrative experience to the new role. His vast knowledge of the region’s agricultural sector, combined with his previous governmental roles, positions him as an ideal candidate to steer the county’s agricultural, livestock, and cooperative initiatives towards greater sustainability and growth.
Governor Mutai expressed his confidence in Langat’s ability to drive the county’s agricultural agenda, stating, “Magerer Langat’s appointment is a strategic move for Kericho County, as he has demonstrated exemplary leadership both at the national level and within the local community. Langat, who served as the Kipkelion MP for several years, has been at the forefront of various development initiatives, particularly in the agriculture and cooperative sectors.
