Moiben Member of Parliament, Professor Phyllis Bartoo, today visited the ongoing construction of the Kimumu AMS Affordable Housing Project, a transformative initiative that will significantly enhance the region’s housing infrastructure once completed.
The project, which is poised to provide 226 modern housing units, is designed to meet the growing demand for affordable homes in the area. In addition to the residential units, the development will feature recreational amenities and commercial spaces, creating a vibrant and self-sustaining community for residents.
During her visit, MP Bartoo commended the progress of the project and expressed her strong belief in its potential to improve the lives of many in the region. “This project is a testament to the government’s commitment to providing affordable housing solutions to our people. It’s a step toward ensuring that everyone has access to decent, affordable housing,” said Bartoo.
The Kimumu AMS Affordable Housing Project is being built under the "Boma Yangu" initiative, a government-led program aimed at helping citizens save and invest in their homes. Prof. Bartoo strongly encouraged residents to take advantage of the savings plan and purchase homes through the initiative. “I urge our people to start saving now and take full advantage of the opportunities provided by the Boma Yangu program. Owning a home is no longer a distant dream for many, but a reality waiting to happen,” she added.
Once complete, the development will offer not just homes, but a lifestyle, with commercial and recreational spaces designed to serve the needs of the community. The project is expected to attract more investments in the region and contribute to local economic growth.
Residents of Moiben and beyond are urged to stay informed and engage with the project’s progress, ensuring that they are part of this historic milestone in affordable housing development.
As the construction continues, MP Bartoo remains committed to supporting the government's efforts to improve living conditions and provide sustainable housing options for all.
