Moisbride Ward MCA Patrick Kimeli Refutes Claims of Involvement in Demolitions

Moisbride Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Patrick Kimeli has strongly refuted circulating claims that he was involved in the demolitions of business premises in the area. Kimeli clarified that the demolitions are being carried out by the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) and the Department of Physical Planning, not by him or his office.

In a statement, Kimeli addressed the confusion surrounding a photo that has been circulating online, which allegedly shows him in the midst of the demolitions. The MCA explained that the photo, taken in 2023, was from a completely different event – the launch of a garbage collection project aimed at benefiting the Swedish recycling group.

"I want to set the record straight. The photo being shared online was taken during the launch of a garbage collection initiative, and it has been misrepresented. The demolition exercise is the responsibility of KeNHA and the Department of Physical Planning, not mine," Kimeli said.

Kimeli further urged residents to disregard the misleading photo, emphasizing that he would never be involved in a scheme that harms the livelihoods of his constituents. “I cannot engage in any activity that would damage the businesses or livelihoods of my electorate,” he added.

The MCA reassured the public that his focus remains on improving the welfare of the people in Moisbride Ward, and he will continue to advocate for their well-being. Kimeli also called for calm and understanding from residents, urging them to seek official information and avoid falling victim to false claims.
