Mwiki Primary Expands as MP Simon King’ara Leads Classroom Construction

By John Kariuki

Ruiru Constituency is witnessing a significant boost in education infrastructure with the ongoing construction of new classrooms at Mwiki Primary School in Mwiki Ward. This initiative, championed by Ruiru MP Simon King’ara, aims to accommodate the increasing student population, particularly the newly enrolled Grade 9 learners.

As the most populated primary school in the constituency, Mwiki Primary has long struggled with overcrowding. The expansion will provide much-needed relief, ensuring a more conducive learning environment for both students and teachers.

MP King’ara reaffirmed his commitment to improving education facilities, stating, “Quality education begins with providing the right infrastructure. By expanding Mwiki Primary, we are addressing congestion and ensuring our children have a better space to learn and thrive.”

The project aligns with national efforts to enhance school infrastructure, especially in response to the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) and the transition of junior secondary school learners. Once completed, the new classrooms will ease pressure on existing facilities, allowing for more effective teaching and learning.

Parents and education stakeholders have welcomed the development, noting that improved facilities will enhance academic performance and create a better school experience for students. Many expressed their gratitude for the investment in education, recognizing its long-term benefits for the community.

With construction progressing steadily, the expansion of Mwiki Primary marks a significant step toward transforming the education landscape in Ruiru, reinforcing the constituency’s dedication to academic excellence.
