National Police Service Signs JKIA Service Charter to Enhance Airport Security and Service Quality

The National Police Service (NPS), led by Inspector General Mr. Douglas Kanja, joined key government stakeholders in signing the JKIA Service Charter at the Four Points Hotel. The event, aimed at improving security, service quality, and overall customer experience at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), was graced by Cabinet Secretaries from various ministries.

Among the dignitaries present were CS Interior Kipchumba Murkomen, CS Transport Davis Chirchir, and CS Tourism Rebecca Miano, marking a significant step towards enhancing collaboration between government agencies and other airport stakeholders.

The JKIA Service Charter establishes a unified operational framework that sets clear service quality standards and introduces a self-monitoring mechanism to ensure seamless coordination across all entities involved in airport operations. The initiative is designed to promote synergy, accountability, and efficiency in service delivery, all while enhancing the safety and convenience of passengers.

The signing ceremony was also attended by Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG KPS) Mr. Eliud Lagat and the Commandant of the Kenya Airport Police Unit, Mr. Bernard Korir, AIG, underscoring the commitment of the National Police Service to ensuring enhanced security at the airport.

This move signals a concerted effort by the government to elevate the travel experience at JKIA and further solidifies the airport's position as a critical gateway for international and regional air travel. The implementation of the Service Charter is expected to streamline operations, reduce bottlenecks, and ensure a safer, more efficient airport environment for both passengers and staff.
