Kiharu Member of Parliament, Ndindi Nyoro, has finally addressed the ongoing speculation about his relationship with President William Ruto, a week after his controversial removal from the Budget Making Committee in Parliament. Speaking to the press on Tuesday, Nyoro shed light on his current political standing, although he refrained from revealing whether he plans to leave the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) or ally with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
While Nyoro chose to remain tight-lipped on political developments, he did confirm that his last political conversation with President Ruto took place before October 2024. This revelation comes amid growing questions about his political future, particularly after the impeachment of Gachagua and his subsequent ousting from the committee.
"I respect any leader in Kenya," Nyoro stated, addressing the journalists who cornered him for answers. "I might have reservations on certain issues, but I don’t think it has been within my role to speak about these things in public." He further clarified that his departure from his role just a week ago had left him needing more time to reflect before making any further statements.
The MP also emphasized his open nature, saying, "You know me, I have no reservations in saying what I believe. I only fear God in this world, but we have been given wisdom on what to say and when to say it."
Though Nyoro’s silence has fueled political speculation, it is clear that he intends to carefully navigate his next steps, both in his political career and within UDA. His decision to withhold further comment has only added to the intrigue surrounding his relationship with President Ruto and his future plans in the political landscape.
As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen how Nyoro will maneuver through the complex political dynamics, especially with his previous strong ties to Ruto’s administration now under scrutiny. For now, it seems Nyoro is focused on reflection, awaiting the right moment to speak his mind on the issues at hand.
