Public Service and Human Capital Development Cabinet Secretary, Justin Muturi, has refuted circulating claims of his resignation, calling the letter dated March 13, 2025, a fraudulent document. The letter, which quickly spread across social media, falsely claimed that Muturi had stepped down from his position due to unforeseen challenges in his ministry.

Addressing the rumors, Muturi took to his official X (formerly Twitter) account, issuing a strong denial.

"FAKE NEWS ALERT. It has come to my attention that a fraudulent letter is circulating, falsely claiming that I have resigned as the Cabinet Secretary for Public Service and Human Capital Development. I categorically state that this letter is fake and should be disregarded," Muturi stated.

In his message, Muturi reassured the public of his continued dedication to his role, emphasizing his commitment to serving the Kenyan people.

"I remain fully committed to serving the people of Kenya in my capacity as Cabinet Secretary, working to strengthen our public service and enhance human capital development," he added.

He also warned the public about the dangers of misinformation, urging citizens to be vigilant against false narratives that seek to mislead the public.

Muturi’s response follows a series of speculations fueled by his recent absence from Cabinet meetings. In a recent interview, Muturi explained that his absence was due to his formal request to be excused from the meetings until the issue of abductions and extrajudicial killings is addressed.

"I have written and sought to be excused from Cabinet meetings until the agenda of abductions and extrajudicial killings is tabled through parliament or cabinet so that the Cabinet is able to express itself and give the country the way forward," Muturi clarified.

Despite his firm stance on these sensitive issues, Muturi assured the public that he has no intention of resigning from his post. He expressed his readiness to face any consequences that may arise due to his position on these pressing national matters.

The circulating fraudulent resignation letter has sparked debates online, with many Kenyans questioning the credibility of information shared on social media. Muturi’s strong response serves as a reminder of the importance of verifying information before believing or sharing it.
