Saboti Member of Parliament, Caleb Amisi, has firmly denied claims circulating that he intends to run for the TransNzoia gubernatorial seat in the 2027 general elections. Speaking to the media today, Amisi dismissed the rumors as false, emphasizing that he has no plans to contest for the seat at this time.
“If I decide to run for governor in 2027, I will make that announcement in broad daylight, so there’s no need for speculation. For now, I fully support the leadership of Governor George Natembeya and will continue working together to improve the lives of our people,” Amisi stated.
The MP addressed the rumors following increasing speculation about his political ambitions, which have gained momentum in recent months. Despite these claims, Amisi made it clear that his current focus is on supporting the sitting governor and serving the people of Saboti.
Amisi, known for his popularity within Saboti, also expressed confidence in his ability to contest for the gubernatorial seat, should he choose to do so. “If I were to run for governor, it would take me only one month to campaign and secure the seat, thanks to the trust and support I have from the people of Saboti and the work we have done together,” he said.
Amisi's remarks come at a time when political dynamics in TransNzoia are heating up ahead of the 2027 elections. While many are eager to see who will contest for the gubernatorial seat, the MP reaffirmed his commitment to supporting Governor Natembeya’s administration and working together to address the county’s key challenges.
As the political landscape continues to shift, both Amisi and Governor Natembeya's supporters eagerly watch for any further developments in the lead-up to the 2027 elections. For now, Amisi’s stance is clear—his focus remains on delivering for his constituents and supporting the work of the current county leadership.
