Tanzanian Mother’s Heartfelt Plea for Missing Daughter After Month-Long Disappearance

A mother in Dar es Salaam is enduring unimaginable heartache as her young daughter, Haitham, has been missing for over a month. The 12-year-old girl disappeared on Sunday, February 16, after an argument with her mother over schoolwork, and her whereabouts remain unknown.

Halima, the distressed mother, explained that Haitham had gone to the market with her sister earlier that day. Upon their return, Halima asked her daughter to complete her school assignments, a request that seemed to upset the young girl. The mother recounted the moment with deep sorrow.

"She had gone to the market with her sister. When they came back, she was told to work on her homework. I’m not sure if anything else was said, but she left right after and hasn’t returned or reached out," Halima said, her voice trembling with emotion.

Typically, when Haitham feels troubled, she would seek comfort at her grandmother’s house. However, this time, she did not follow that familiar pattern, and Halima’s worry has only deepened since then.

The grieving mother, who has tried every avenue in search of her daughter, has contacted local authorities and made public appeals. Halima and her family have visited Haitham’s school, spoken to neighbors, and reached out to friends, but none have seen or heard from the missing girl.

"We’ve done everything we can, including reaching out to the police, making public appeals, visiting her school, and speaking with neighbors and friends, but no one has seen her. We are deeply worried," Halima shared through sobs, her heartache evident.

In a tearful statement, Halima made an emotional plea for her daughter’s return. Her words, filled with pain and love, carried a desperate hope.

"My dear child, I am in so much pain. Wherever you are, please come back. I miss you so much. I can't eat or sleep. I’ve forgiven you. Please, come home," she said, her voice breaking as she spoke to her daughter.

The community has rallied around the mother, offering support and keeping an eye out for any signs of Haitham. As the search continues, Halima holds onto the hope that her daughter will return home safely. The case has drawn attention across the region, with calls for anyone with information to come forward.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the disappearance, but as the days stretch into weeks, the family’s hope for a reunion remains their guiding light.
