Eldoret National Polytechnic recently held its 2025 interdepartmental athletics competition at the institution's sports grounds, marking a key step in preparations for the upcoming Kenya Association of Technical Training Institutes (KATTI) regional games.
Sports Officer Musa Kibet highlighted that the event was made possible by the full support of the institution's administration. He noted that this year’s competition saw an impressive turnout, with more trainees participating compared to the previous year.
"The competition served as a selection process to choose the team that will represent the institution in the KATTI regional games later this term," said Kibet. He emphasized that the talent displayed by the participants, coupled with the larger turnout, is a clear signal for the administration to nurture such potential in the future.
Kibet also extended his thanks to the event officials and departmental representatives who ensured the trainees were well-prepared. Under the theme Empowerment Through Sports, the event not only strengthened the institution's athletic spirit but also boosted its chances for success at the KATTI regional games.
"We have assembled a strong team that will represent the institution at the regional games, and I am confident that we will perform excellently and qualify for the Athletics Kenya Championship at Nyayo Stadium," Kibet concluded, expressing optimism about their upcoming performance.
With the regional games fast approaching, the institution is keen to continue its focus on developing athletic talent and ensuring a competitive edge in future competitions.
