The National Police Service (NPS) bid a solemn farewell to Police Constable (PC) Samuel Tompoi Kaetuai, who was laid to rest on March 19, 2025, at his home in Naserian Village, Kajiado County. PC Kaetuai, a brave officer who tragically lost his life while serving in Haiti under the Multinational Security Support Mission, was honored for his dedication, patriotism, and ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Mr. Gilbert Masengeli, who represented Inspector General of Police Mr. Douglas Kanja, delivered a moving tribute to the fallen officer. "Samuel was more than just a devoted officer; he was a true patriot, embodying the values of the National Police Service," DIG Masengeli said. "His courage and unwavering commitment to peace and security were felt not only within our borders but also internationally, in his mission in Haiti, where he paid the ultimate price."
The tribute highlighted PC Kaetuai’s selflessness, resilience, and dedication to protecting lives, as well as his service that transcended national borders. His legacy continues to inspire his fellow officers and the broader community, leaving behind an enduring example of bravery and devotion.
The ceremony was attended by key figures, including Deputy National Security Advisor and former Inspector General of Police Mr. Joseph Boinnet, Commandant General Service Unit Mr. Ranson Lolmodooni SAIG, Commandant Border Police Unit Mr. James Kamau SAIG, and MSS representative Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Mutiso. Also present was Ms. Maureen Mimnaugh, Director of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs at the US Embassy in Kenya, along with several senior officers from the NPS and other security agencies.
The National Police Service has extended its deepest condolences to PC Kaetuai’s family, friends, and fellow officers, remembering his service with reverence and respect. "May the legacy of PC Samuel, marked by his dedication and selflessness, continue to inspire us all in our mission to serve and protect," the NPS statement concluded.
PC Kaetuai's passing has left a void within the police community, but his contributions to the safety of both local and international communities will forever be remembered.
